Ochsner Health Network – 2019 Annual Report

Staying on Track
With Meaningful
Use Through Easier
Reporting

Innovation

In practice for over 25 years as an internal medicine physician in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, Dr. Rowe Crowder was part of the first group in the state to go live with Ochsner’s version of Epic in 2013. The internal monitoring provided through Ochsner Physician Partners (OPP) has been instrumental in improving both the quality of care for his patients and the success of his practice. “One of the main things that helped us out a great deal was the ACO keeping us on track with MSSP and Meaningful Use measures, and actually doing the reporting process for us. Before that, I had to hire a consultant through the whole process of meeting Meaningful Use. Now it’s just very easy. We’re making sure we’re meeting the patient’s needs, closing all the gaps, making sure they’re getting their tests. Things we would have done anyway, but this gives us kind of a broad picture that helps us follow up with patients who might otherwise have been lost somewhere in the process.”
