Highlights of the Year
  • Helped form a newspaper industry consortium with Yahoo! HotJobs, through which all Cox newspapers' job listings will also appear in HotJobs' national jobs database.
  • Valpak began construction of a new $207 million state-of-the-art production facility in Largo, Florida.
  • Increased online advertising revenues by 23 percent over 2005.
  • Cox local newspaper Web sites ranked #1 for local news and information in their respective markets.
  • Successfully divided the assets of Trader Publishing as Cox assumed control of the publishing company's automobile-related publications.
  • A federal court valued Cox's minority interest in the Daytona Beach News-Journal at $129.2 million, at which price the majority owners will be required to buy out the Cox interest.
